You are currently browsing the tag archive for the ‘Climate Talks’ tag.

As expected, the self-centric countries which have exploited the
resources of the Mother Earth to no end, have refused to recognize their
responsibilities and the Copenhagen climate talks have collapsed.

Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra (1888-1969) had warned of serious
catastrophic like situation if mankind does not give up the so-called
development which is synonymous of exhausting earth’s limited resources for
unlimited wants. So did so many other experts and sensible people of the world.

The developing countries now want the developed countries to pay the
price of their rape of resources. However, these developing economies,
like India and China, are themselves following the same model of
development !!

When we read such things we think that there are certain “other people” who are
doing all these wrong things, not us. We do not realise that its me & you who
are the culprits. We lead a consumeristic lifestyle, enjoy shopping in malls and
use products of conspicuous consumption. We value and rate each other by the
amount of things we can consume ! Consumption has become the criterion of social
hierarchy in our society.

Why do u think that I am inferior to you when I take a glass of
nimbu-pani when u r taking a can of Pepsi ???…… Why do we go to
shopping malls when we we could easily do with the shop around the
corner ? Do we realise how much electricity these malls are wasting ?
……. These are tiny examples from our lives……

We think that consumption of material things and resources is an
indicator of our status and development ! Consumption gives us feelof a “high”
!………………. This happens because our mind and our
perceptive faculties are slaves of complexes….. “Vrittis” ( Kaam,
Kordh, moh, mad, lobh, matsarya……………… Sex, anger,
attachment, vanity, lust etc.)………. These complexes rule us as if
we are their servants……..

One needs to get attached to a Living Sadguru to free oneself from this
bondage…… And unless we individuals are free from this bondage, we will keep
exhausting the limited resources of the Mother
Earth………….. Nobody will be able to save the climate.

Nature’s laws are Dharma of Nature. This Dharma of Nature has to be
adhered to. We have no choice. Because, if we do not do it, Nature has
its own way of tackling the problem.

Krishna said: “Yada Yada hi Dharmasya glanirbhavati Bharata ……
Abhyutthanam Dharmsaya tadatmanam srijamyaham”…It means: “Whenever the Dharma
( Laws of Nature) ‘s following decline dangerously in the
society, I ( the physical embodiment of Nature’s Dharma) appear to
correct all the things.”

Mankind must give up its lust fopr material consumption unless it is too late.
My Sadguru, Anant Sri Baba says: “Time is ticking away.”
